Joo. Olohuone is a shared lounge for residents

We want to prevent loneliness in rental living, so we're encouraging the residents of Joo apartments to get to know each other and share experiences. To make spending time together as easy as possible, we're adding versatile community spaces to our apartment complexes.

The first Joo Olohuone, Finnish for Joo Lounge, is currently being built at our Kirkkonummen Manhattan apartment complex, with the inauguration scheduled for May. The inviting Joo Lounge, designed by Bond Creative Agency, will be a welcoming place for residents to play boardgames, just hang out, or organise events together. An extension of the home living room, it's open to neighbours for co-working and leisure activities alike.

Besides good company and a comfortable space, the Joo Lounge will feature a lending library for practical items needed at home. The inventory will be decided according to residents' requests. The plan is to bring the lending library to more and more Joo apartment complexes, reducing residents' need to own everything.

Joo Lounges are just one of the many ways in which we build Joo communities. The residents of Manhattan in Kirkkonummi also have a weekly floorball shift and exercise class at the Joo Arena leisure centre, which is sponsored by Joo Kodit.
